Cardiff City Hall
Built in the English Renaissance style, City Hall was opened in 1906, a year after Cardiff was granted its city status. Within the magnificent exterior carved from Portland stone can be found elegant rooms to meet the expectations of conference, function and event organisers. This majestic building offers a spacious venue for large-scale events yet smaller rooms are also available for more intimate gatherings and syndicate sessions.
However, behind its magnificent facade and glorious interiors you will find that City Hall can accommodate state of the art conferencing and hi-tech communications systems.
City Hall is surprisingly flexible, often the setting for prestigious national and international events attended by the world’s media. These have included the European Council meeting in 1998 attended by fifteen heads of state and more recently, City Hall was transformed into the headquarters for the Rally of Great Britain.
City Hall is licensed for marriage ceremonies with its unique atmosphere making it an outstanding choice for weddings, other family events, special celebrations and corporate hospitality.
At City Hall, you can be assured of a warm welcome, as well as superb service and support throughout from our Functions Team. For major conferences, conventions and events, further assistance can be offered, such as booking accommodation and social programmes, through the Council’s Marketing and Tourism Service and our partners, The Cardiff Initiative and the Hoteliers Association.
