visited here on sat, trendy looking place and very busy so nice atmosphere. Ordered a white wine and a rose and both were served in tumblers. I asked for a wine glass and the bar staff laughed at me stating it was a wine glass, I acknoledge that the bar wants a trendy feel but I personally prefer my wine in the correct glass. I told the barman that I didn’t agree that a tumbler was a wine glass and he again laughed and said so you want a stem on your glass! Surely holding wine in a tumbler would warm the wine which should be cold! I prefer to hold my wine glass by the stem to prevent warming my drink. (especially when no seats avail so cant put glass down) I also would prefer not to have to explain to a bar man why I want a wine glass or be laughed at as if I don’t know better about what glass I should have! Next time, just smile and change the glass or better still, stop serving chilled wine in tumblers!
Amazing Food 5*

i had vegetarian risotto, sweet patatoes fries and Ciabatta Bread . the food had very good with texture and a lot flavours , the service was very good .

Poor eating and drinking experience
Visited theDock Tuesday evening wouldn’t bother again-beautiful evening weather wise which had been forecast for several days-bar understaffed with a queue from the bar to the door for drinks-took our drinks upstairs to eat-asked the waitress 3 times for menus and if she could wipe our table as awash with liquid-service slow and food awful/ best out of 4 meals was fish and chips-noodle dish was glass noodles which we presumed should have continued cooking at the table in the “hot broth “it arrived with -as the broth was tepid ended up with a gelatinous pillow inedible in the middle of the dish-horrible- we weren’t asked how we would like the burger cooked and it was over cooked-went into the Dock at 7.15pm left at 9.45pm after 2 drinks and 1 course of very poor food/ best part of the evening was Cadwalladers ice cream
Poor meal
A disappointing experience – We tried this place at lunchtime, during an impromptu visit to the capital on the 11/11/16. Although we found the staff very pleasant and attentive, and polite when serving our meal, overall I found the meal quite poor.

I had to return my drink to the bar as it had old food materials around the glass rim. Likewise, my main course food was overcooked, the chicken was dry, and the overall product quite greasy, served luke warm.
A bitter disappointment. Would not visit again.
Nice day so a visit to cardiff bay tried the dock ordered glass of white wine pint of beer nearly ten pounds I chocked and queried the price it was correct checked the menu very expensive I said I am going back to the old arcaded
Awful experience! The staff were not nice at all, all need to attend some kind of customer service training! They must all hate the job because they were all so grumpy! Not a smile out of any of them! The attitude on the manager was dreadful! Il never return.
Unfortunately went to this bar on a Saturday afternoon. if you are over 50 ageism applys to this bar, what do I mean ! Went to the bar, joined the cue when it came my time to be be served totally ignored, others who were younger and had pushed there way to the bar were offered to be served before me. When I asked the bar lady why any kind of cueing sysystem was clearly ignored, I received no reply! To be expected I guess! What a way to run a bar! Eventually served after 10 mins waiting, never again very rude service! Not for the first time, will never visit again, and will tell friends and family to give this place a wide berth.
My visit
I visited The Dock with my friends and it was a lovely afternoon! The service was great and the staff were very lovely and helpful! The drinks and food were up to a very high standard and very affordable which is perfect as I am a student! I will definitely be visiting again and will be taking my family along. I can’t wait to recommend The Dock to my other friends and family to share this experience.
Steer clear - food is dreadful and customer service is non existant!
My fiancé’s daughter booked a table for 19.30 at The Dock on Friday July 2. There were 4 of us. We waited 15 minutes before anyone came to take an order from us and a further 45 minutes for the drinks order to be bought to our table.
When the food appeared, (a mixture of fish goujons, chicken fillets on skewers etc) I sent my order of chicken skewers back as it was cold. Whilst the skewers were being heated up, the mains appeared ( a mixture of fish and chips and burgers etc). My fiancé’s fish was swimming in grease and my chips were cold. I sent my dish back again.
Just in time as my skewers reappeared!
Following the (crap) meal, desserts were then ordered; which took another 20 minutes to arrive and then the servers tried to deliver the wrong order to our table.
It was a farce which cost £121 quid! At no point did a member of the management approach our party and apologise for the service and poor food. Instead it was left to a trainee who had not even received till training to deal with me.
If this review is read, I strongly advise all to steer clear of this dreadful place!
Nice big modern bar in great location in Cardiff Bay.
Such a shame there was no real Brains beer on sale. Would call again if they did.
Service really slow caused by complex drinks offer, cocktails etc.
